No matter how hard I try, over the years, I seem to lose things. So, in a vain attempt to save my music, I've decided to charge the internet with it's care, hoping it can do a better job of looking after it. So I hope this site will become a reliable source for years to come.
I've been involved in music, in some way or another for over 35 years...sounds impressive!... But taking into account my earliest years involvement, which was loosely based around school musicals. I guess you can say that I have been a serious musician for 20 of those 35.
My first real involvement in music was with my old friends Francis Harwood-Witcher and Kevin Romain, trying desperately to be cool and "with it". Following Pink Floyd, Arlo Guthrie and any other off-the-wall band of the day while secretly loving Prince, Michael Jackson and any 70's Funk Disco stuff.
I later found myself in 'The Suitcase Soul Band'. A 10-piece band dedicated to original soul classics. After hiring mini vans and playing every local, and not so local clubs and pubs in the area, the pressures of local stardom took it's toll on some of the members and it ended ungracefully.
Local rock / soul / funk band 'TuT' needed a singer, so I helped them out with a few gigs…two years and loads of gigs later, without a nearly good enough monitor mix, my vocal chords needed a rest so I quit to do a bit of writing.
Didn't last long…Started 'The Spiders' with my 'besty' Steve Boyd and continued to play the clubs and pubs. Noted by Don Airey (of Rainbow and Deep Purple fame) as 'Playing the best damn rock version of Superstition I've ever heard'…which was nice! Anyway, that looked like it might be some kind of success, so in true tradition we put an end to it using a drummer as an excuse. In truth my vocal chords needed a rest, so I quit to do a bit of writing...seeing the pattern yet?
After 2 years with local band 'Legend' my vocal chords needed a rest, so I quit to do a bit of writing. After 2 years with local band 'The Influence'…..I didn't quit, I just wanted to do some writing, which I am now doing.
Heavily influenced by real talent like Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart and songwriters like Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and Prince I soldier on and here I am.
I hope you like the songs or at least some of them.
All written by my goodself with the help of Steve Boyd on lead and some with Fran helping out. Unless mentioned.
All vocals by me!
All songs recorded to licensed backing tracks or played from original music

“Anything you absorb you will ultimately secrete. It’s inevitable. Most of us are an original painting, and it’s a mystery to us what is learned and what is borrowed, what is stolen and what is born, what you came with and what you found while you were here.”
